TV Advertising expenditures increased by 20% in 2001

At present 95% of advertisment outlay in Belarus fall at three Russian TV channels ORT, RTR, NTV. In 1997 it footed up to USD 5399 000

Annual expenses for TV advertising in Republic of Belarus:

In 1998 USD 4046000
In 1999 USD 4178000
In 2000 USD 23429000
In 2001 USD 28907000.

The growth of expenditures in 2001 has been caused by two reasons:

  • ORT and RTR have lifted prices for advertising (the highest price of $3.000 per min. is during "Vremya"/Time news programme);
  • the growth of TV adverts amount.
The most active advertisers in Belarus are foreign companies. Below you can see the TOP-5 list of major advertisers in Belarus in 2001.
