Microsoft's CIS operation said it has started to a project to modernise the corporate server system of the National Bank of Belarus.
The firm plans to renew both corporate network hardware and install Microsoft Windows 2000 on all bank servers, along with Microsoft Exchange Server 2000, SQL Server 2000 and ISA Server 2000. Microsoft also expects to introduce a uniform catalogue service based on Active Directory.
The banking server system is to be extended to all branches, while the central e-mail server is to be based on the cluster of two servers managed by Microsoft Windows 2000 Cluster Services.
The bank is also to use Microsoft Terminal Services to provide access to centralized applications for 250 employees. Two Fujitsu Siemens Primergy processor servers were chosen for the server system.
