INTERNET-2 project launched in Belarus

INTERNET -2 (Fostering ICT usage in Belarus) supported by UNDP is a joint initiative of Belarusian governmental institutions (Ministry of Education is among them) and of NGOs. A three year project is aimed at ICT infrastructure development for civil society organizations, education and libraries. ICT will contribute to sustainable development of social partnership and human capital.
The priorities of the project are: introducing ICTs in schools, creating of Parliament information portal and of NGOs virtual community; establishing virtual libraries network and fostering ICT education.
INTERNET -2 is coordinated by International Advisory Council (IAC) , which is a joint body with an open forum for ICT development priorities discussions.
