Ministry of Communications of Belarus has cancelled the bidding for the third GSM operator silence.
The statement issued by the Ministry says that Belarusian President gave a commission to the Ministry to provide widely available mobile phone services on the whole territory of the country by the year of 2015 and only a fully state owned company is able to provide GSM mobile phone services affordable for all the citizens of the country, especially those living in impoverished rural areas.
That is why Ministry of Communications and Informatization announces closing of open international bidding for a third GSM operator license. Ministry expresses its gratitude to those who has already applied for the participation in the bidding and hopes for future cooperation.
It is planned that this new state-owned GSM operator will start building its network in2005.
