Belarusian operator BelCel has accomplished transfer from NMT-450 to CDMA-450 (Diallog) standard. According to the Ministry of Communications and Informatization decision, of March 9, 2006, BelCel is allowed to cancel NMT-450 services.
CDMA-450 (Diallog) standard allows to provide a wide range of services including high-speed data transmission (up to 153 Kbit/sec) and EV-DO (data transmission up to 2Mbit/sec)
As of March 1, 2006 BelCel has 100 000 subscribers, 128 CDMA base stations.
BelCels network covers 44,7% of Belarusian territory with 62,6% of country's population.
By early March, 2006, the number of mobile phones users in Belarus totaled 4 mln 353 thousand.
