Beltelecom has announced bidding for Ethernet local, intraband and backbone network equipment. Deadline for applications is May 4, 2007. On July 7, the bidding committee will consider applications.
According to Beltelecom requirements, applications should be supported by USD 500 000 due valid for 90 calendar days since bidding application submission. The winner of the bidding should deliver equipment during the third quarter of 2007.
Beltelecom will pay for equipment delivery. The supplier will be paid after equipment is put into operation with 18 months deferring of payment (quarterly, by equal parts)
It is planned that Metro Ethernet network construction will be started in the third quarter of 2007. By the end of the fourth quarter of 2007, the network will be put into operation.
Metro Ethernet technology will enable Beltelecom to provide three types of services via one local loop: VoIP /IP-telephony/, data transmission and video on request.
