Perspectives for broadband development in Belarus

According to minister of communications and informatisation Nicolai Pantelei there will be 1 million 800 thousand broadband Internet access subscribers by the end of 2010.
"We have about 500 thousand subscribers, and Beltelecom is planning to connect 1 million 800 thousand users this year", - the minister has announced.
Deputy chief of "Gyprosvyaz" public corporation Andrey Kononov has stated that broadband access penetration will reach 34% at 2015, 38% in cities and 25% in countryside.
There will be be more than 3 million broadband access subscribers by the end of 2015. 50% (3 million) of mobile subscribers will use broadband access.
Beltelecom is planning to provide services to no less than 2 million of broadband access subscribers in 2015.
At present, according to Beltelecom data, 400-500 thousand subscribers access the Internet via dial-up connection, and this figure is not likely to change over time.
