10/01/2019

According to BelTA nearly 500 foreigners have availed themselves of the simplified employment procedure in the Hi-Tech Park since late March 2018.

Most of the foreigners are citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. Purposeful work is in progress in Belarus to hire highly qualified foreign specialists. In particular, the list of categories of persons, which employment in Belarus does not require special permits, is being expanded. The capability was granted to Hi-Tech Park resident companies by the Digital Economy Development Ordinance, which came into force on 28 March 2018. Representatives of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry reminded that within three business days of signing an employment contract with a foreign specialist Hi-Tech Park resident companies are supposed to notify their local citizenship and migration office about it in written form. Foreign specialists, who sign an employment contract with a Hi-Tech Park resident company, are granted a temporary residence permit for the duration of the contract. Nearly 16,000 foreigners came to work in Belarus in 2018.
