National Association of Internet Providers founded in Belarus

A non-governmental organisation called 'Information Society' has founded the National Association of Internet Providers in Belarus.
Seven of the fifteen major internet providers (ISPs) have become members of the Association and it is still open for new members.
The Association of Belarusian Internet Providers plans to influence the development of new laws and to lobby for changes in the current internet legislation. The most important issues in this respect are taxation and relations between the Communications Ministry and the providers.
