Belarusian GSM operator Velcom has begun operating a new switchboard intended for 200,000 subscribers.
Meanwhile, Velcom has seen the number of their base stations in Minsk grow from 25 up to 50. The price for connection has been reduced to US$20 (E21.97) and the monthly roaming fees have been cancelled.
On 1 October, Velcom reported having a total of 86,000 customers.
