Belarus sees a growth in demand for online access

Belarusian internet users spent 240.6 million minutes online from January to September this year, according to the Ministry of Statistics and Analysis of the Republic of Belarus.
Meanwhile, Beltelecom has reported that 46,000 customers accessed the internet without a password in September, 2001. Earlier, Beltelecom had exercised control over 60 per cent of the market. However, the growth of demand has led Beltelecom to plan an increase in its modem pool capacity in 2002.
