Beltelecom installed new dial-up servers for internet access last week bringing the total number of ports up to 2160.
In order to develop the quality of dial up services, new servers were connected up to automatic telephone exchanges through the backbone. At present there are 9 node points in Minsk.
Three ADSL access nodes were connected up to the backbone, which enable providers to install dedicated lines for their customers.
The second stage of the project is set to be implemented in November increasing the capacity of traffic from Minsk to the regions to 8 Mb/s. A special node for regional traffic processing will be also be installed and a system of semi permanent ISDN access and digital channels will be further developed.
