MTS the joint Belarusian-Russian mobile operator has announced that it has signed up its 10,000th subscriber and plans to install 150 base stations by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, MTS's market rival Velcom has reported 270,000 subscribers.
The total number of mobile phones subscribers grew up by 200000 since August, 2001. 3 per cent of the Belarusian population now have a mobile phone.
