The State Commission for Radio Frequencies has granted NMT-operator Belcel with permission to develop its CDMA-450 network.
According to the permission agreement CDMA-450 will begin operating by February, 2003. Belcel is to intially install 26 CDMA450 base stations.
Recently a 50 per cent stake in Belcel belonging to Metromedia International Group was sold to a Dutch company CIB BV for E1.6m.
