The World Bank and Belarus National Academy of Science have recently signed an agreement to allocate E45,000 in funding for an assessment of the ICT infrastructure in Belarus and of the e-readiness of the country (E-Readiness Grant).
This is not the first ICT project in Belarus supported by the the World Bank. In 1999 Belarus received a grant from the World Bank to tackle the Y2K problem.
The analysis of ICT situation in Belarus will be focused on the following issues:
Priorities for ICT development in Belarus are to be drawn out on the basis of the findings of the assessment.
