The number of subscribers to the three mobile phone operators in Belarus exceeded 448,000 by the end of 2002, according to Russian news agency Interfax.
Mobile Digital Communications (trademark Velcom) now has 390,000 subscribers which is a 39 per cent rate of growth since September, 2002.
The number of subscribers to Belarusian-Russian Mobile TeleSystems is now 38,000 people - a 230 per cent rate of growth in the same period, and Belcel's subscriber base increased by 1.3 per cent to 20,000
