Cosmostv, a Minsk cable TV operator, has introduced broadband internet services to the city.
Initially, the new service will only be available for a micro-district in Minsk. Customers can choose 64 Kbit/s and 128 Kbit/s access, and must pay for traffic volume. At he package includes connection and a cable modem, for a charge of E118.
Cosmostv has more than 20,000 customers.
Cosmostv, a joint Belarusian-Russian company, was founded in 1993 by the Belarusian Radio and TV Broadcasting Centre and American International Telcell. In June, 1996, Cosmostv launched MMDS TV services in Minsk for individual customers.
Since October, 2000, the company has been developing its TV Cable Network (TCN).
