According to the information announced by the Ministry of Information on the 30th of October there are more than 940 mobile subscribers in Belarus.
920 thosand people are subscribed for GSM 900/1800 standard. Mobile Digital Communication (Velcom), a joint Belarusan- Ceprian venture has 580 thousand subscribers (63% of all GSM subscribers), Mobile TeleSystems has 340 thousand subscribers (37% of GSM subscribers). According to some experts by the end of the year the numberof subscribers will grow up to 1 mln.
BelCel has 20 thousand subscribers. 12 thousand subscribers use analogues NMT- 450 standard, while 8 thousand - IMT-MC-450 (cdma2000) standard.
