Supercomputer K-500 (skif.bas-net.by), created within the framework of Belarusian-Russian joint programme SKIF, holds a 407 position in the world top500 of the most powerful computer systems (www.top500.org/list/2003/11).
The November 2003 top500 complied by experts from Mannheim (Germany) and Tennessee (the USA) universities and from Berkley National Laboratory (the USA) includes computing systems installed in universities and laboratories of 38 countries.
K-500 (Pentium4 Xeon 2.8 GHz, SCI 3D, 128 processors) peak performance is 716,8 gigaflops and actual power is 423,6 gigaflops. The system is installed in the Joint Institute of Information Science.
