"Belarus is planning to launch a satellite in the nearest future,"- said Mr. A. Lukashenko at the World Summit on the Information Society Meeting on the 11th of December in Geneva.
According to Mr. Lukashenko, Belarus has a high technological potential, human capital and infrastructure and is prepared to participate actively in the international projects, such as monitoring of radiation level, ecology, distributed computations.
Belarusian President called governments to join their efforts in order "to create accessible and high quality information products" and suggested to create a special UN Foundation for financing delivery of software to developing countries on reduced prices.
"World community should exert every effort to create information security systems in order to protect information networks from terrorist activities," - stressed President Lukashenko.
