According to Vice-Minister of Communications of Belarus Ivan Rak, the ministry will work out terms of tender by March 1, 2004. Experts at Ministry of Communications proposed to the government to create interdepartmental committee for tender documentation preparation and approval.
Mr. Rak says that applications for participation in the bidding for the third Belarusian GSM operator license will be accepted since the end of May during the three subsequent months. The bidding committee will start to consider applications in the beginning of September 2004.
Ministry of Communication is now settling the issue of frequency resource for the third GSM operator.
Mr. Rak presumes that after that bidding Ministry of Communications of Belarus will not enroll new GSM operators in the near future.
