Recently Belarusian Council of Ministers has adopted the Programme of intellectual property rights protection for 2004-2005 (Resolution N 472). The main objective of the programme is to improve the country's intellectual property rights legislation.
In the framework of the programme it is planned to work out draft laws on brands, patent fees and duties and amendments to the Law on copyright . It is stated in the Programme that Belarus is intended to enter treaties On trade mark laws (TLT) and On patent Law (PLT).
The Programme prepared by the experts of National Center of Intellectual Property, affiliated to the Belarusian government provides for creation of Training Center for copyright protection experts and for introduction of patent e-services .
