Belarus Mobile Users, April 01, 2010Velcom and Siemens Communications sign a contract in Belarus

Belarusian MDC (Mobile Digital Communications) company (trademarks VELCOM and PRIVET) has recently signed an agreement with Siemens Communications.
According to the terms of contract Siemens is to suuply more than 160 GSM900 and GSM1800 base stations (some 1200 transmitters), including relay components and SDH transport network equipment.
The new equipment will enable Velcom to increase its network capacity, to improve quality of services, to extend Velcom network to remote rural areas. Improved infrastructure will allow Velcom to use EDGE technologies and other innovative decisions.
