State company Belpochta (Belarusian post) launche 40 new PIAPs (Public Internet Access Point) in 9 months at local post offices in villages and small towns in Belarus. Now the number of PIAPs in Belarus totals 120 before October 1, 2005.
According to Yuri Izyumov, chief of Belpochta communications and Internet technologies department , Belpochta has installed capacities to provide Internet services for 624 banks plastic cards simultaneously.
