Belarusian state owned GSM 900/1800 operator BeST has recently launched its services.
At the first statge BeST suggests two tariffs: basic and reduced price.
The testing period lasted two months. According to the license terms BeST was obliged to start commercial operations by September 18, 2005. But the new GSM provider got official Giprosviaz certificate for its microwave-link equipment only on September 7, 2005.
According to a decree by the President and Belarusian government, state owned mobile operator BeST will get a $50m loan from the Chinese government to finance BeST's GSM network development and another $184.2mn from the Export-Import Bank of China to pay for 78 per cent of the equipment, which is supplied by Alcatel Shanghai Bell.
BeST switch capacity totals now 200 thousand. The stuff of the company includes 150 people.
