Belarusian government names contractors for national HiTech Park Project

Recent Regulation on the frameworks for Belarusian HiTech Park Project, issued by Belarusian government, establishes terms and contractors for the preparatory stage of the scheme.
According to the regulation, Administration of the HiTech Park is to develop guidelines and requirements for major documentation and agreements forms by February 1, 2006. By the same date, Minsk City Executive Committee should prepare the design for HiTech town planning.
National Academy of Science of the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Informatization should provide a broadband internet access for the Park by the end of the first quarter of 2006.
By the end of the third quarter of 2006, State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus should develop proposals on HiTech Park research and development programmes for 2006-2010.
However, Presidential Decree of September 2005, named ICT and software innovations as the focus of the Park residents' activities.
According to the Decree, residents of the Belarusian HiTech Park get significant tax and custom duty preferences.
By the moment a number of domestic and foreign IT-companies, including Microsoft and Hewlett Packard, have expressed their interest in the promises of the Belarusian HiTech project.
