Beltelecom is planning to launch Data-Center

Belarusian national telecommunications operator Beltelecom is planning to put into operation Data Center with initial capacity of 4 Tbyte in the second quarter of 2006. Later on, the capacity will be increased up to 90 Tbyte.
This Data Center (or center for data processing) is to become a resource basis for e-government and for national digital certification center.
It is also planned to create regional data centers and to connect them into a unified network.
Beltelecom experts emphasize that these networked data centers will provide basis for any digital information projects, including governments and businesses in Belarus. In addition to that, there will no be necessity for investments into creating an alternative or parallel infrastructure.
