On Monday, April 2, during the first hearings, Belarusian House of Representatives has adopted amendments to the Draft Law on Telecommunications.
According to the Draft Law, a Coordinating Council for public telecommunications development should be established. The Council will be responsible for networks functioning and for developing technical requirements for public telecommunications networks according to national and international standards taking into account military defence issues. The President of the country is authorized to approve regulations for radio-spectrum usage and for compatibility expertise.
