Belarusian telco Beltelecom has launched a tender for Next Generation Network /NGN/ equipment.
The deadline for applications is August 14, 2007. Offers are to be valid for 90 days after the deadline. The selection criteria include terms of delivery, mounting and of putting into operation as well as staff training and after-sales service. The equipment should be supplied by the end of the second quarter of 2008.
The NGN equipment will be used for a 'universal mail" service, which Beltelecom is planning to put into operation in 2007. The 'universal mail" combines data transmission and phone services, and allows fixed telephone subscribers to use a so called "voice mailbox" in order to send SMS or fax to mobile phone users.
