Belarusian state owned mobile operator BeST has invested USD 200 mln into its network development, said Sergei Poblaguev, BeST first vice-director.
The sum is a part of the USD 234 mln loan allowed by BeST's Chinese partner.
After 1,5 years of operation BeST has 149 000 subscribers (August, 1 2007 - 156000). The company's network of 232 covers 12,7 % of the country's territory inhabited by 48,2% of population. BeST has also a chain of 241 dealer and service shops.
By the end of 2007 BeST is planning to extend its network to 90% of Belarus territory. To achieve a make -out position BeSt needs to have 1 mln subscribers, and the company is planning to make it in 2009.
