ITU (International Telecommunication Union) published statistical data for the year of 2006, including Belarus.
According to the ITU basic indicators there are 9.70M inhabitants in Belarus and the density of population is 47 per km. Total GDP and GDP per capita were 29,6BUSD and 3'031 respectively in the year of 2005. The number of telephone subscribers totaled 9'328'000 (96,17 per 100 inhabitants) in 2006.
Internet Users (1999-2006)
The data on main telephone lines (k) are the following: 2001 - 2'862.4, 2006 - 3'368.0 and the CAGR(%) - 3.3 (2001-2006). Main telephone lines per 100 inhabitants: - 28.69 (2001), main telephone lines per 100 inhabitants: - 34.72 (2006) and CAGR(%) - 3.9 (2001-2006).
Broadband Subscribers (2003-2006)
The increase of the number of cellular subscribers totaled 112.3% (CAGR(%) - 112.3 (2001-2006) - from 138.300 in 2001 to 5.960.000 in 2006. Cellular mobile subscribers comprised 63.9 % of total telephone subscibers in 2006, 61.44 mobile phones subscribers per 100 inhabitants.
