Seven "Electronic Belarus" projects accomplished in 2007

According to the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of Belarus, there seven of 46 projects launched within the framework of the State Programme of Informatization of the Republic of Belarus for 2003-2010 "Electronic Belarus" were accomplished in 2007.
These are the projects on:
Unified automated information system which allows register bodies to interact with other state bodies ; Systems of electronic mail protection and electronic signature security; Automated system of state border control; All-Sate automated information system (including passports register, judicial persons register, real estate property) and other. In December 2007, a Unified automated system of control over execution of commissions given by the President was put into operation.
In order to create legislative framework for the new trends in governance, Ministry of Communications and Informatization is working on a number of draft laws and regulations. The most important of them are considered to be the draft laws On Information, Informatization and Information Protection and On Electronic Document and Electronic Digital Signature.
The first parliamentary hearings on the draft law On Information, Informatization and Information Protection took place in 2007. The draft law On Electronic Document and Electronic Digital Signature will be presented to the Parliament in 2008.
