The Belarusian Council of Ministers' resolution #204 on amendments to the State programme of services sector for 2006-2010 forsees faster growth of the number of mobile phones subscribers: eight millions against six millions planned earlier.
According to the amended programme (February 15, 2008 version), 400 thousand more stationary telephones will be connected to the Beltelecom network against 325 planned in 2006. Broadband connection equipment capacity should be increased to 240 thousand ports.
Furthermore, Belarusian Council of Ministers comissioned the firmware complex for interactive data transmission services (IP-TV, watching the aired tv-show at any time, etc.) to be put into operation by Beltelecom.
