Beltelecom has announced that it's ADSL userbase totaled 150 thousand subscribers in 2008, while total number of ADSL services subscribers is 190 thousand. In general (taking into account cable operators), 250 thousand subscribers use broadband internet access/
Overall Belarussian ADSL userbase increased by 100% by the end of 2008. Beltelecom controls 78% of ADSL access in the country, and 44% in Minsk.
Beltelecom had increased Belarus' external internet gateway. Russian web recourses are the most popular among Belarusians and account for most traffic. The European internet "sector" is less popular, but it's gateway has been increased to 2.2 Gbit/sec as well. Belarusian overall capacity is now 6.3 Gbit/sec (2005 - 464 Mbit/sec, 2006 - 1.8 Gbit/sec, 2007 - 2,5 Gbit/sec).
