According to TeleGeography, Minsk-based cable operator Cosmos TV now has a total of 100,000 subscribers, according to Broadband TV News quoting Telesputnik.
The cableco, backed by the Russian Akado group, saw its TV and cable internet subscriber totals grow by 23.6% and over 100% respectively in the last twelve months, with internet users reaching 40,000. Cosmos TV, which launched internet access in 2002, now passes 300,000 homes in the Belarus capital with its cable network.
