On April 16, 1999, GSM standart communications became availiable in Belarus for the first time.
Velcom offers it's subscribers the largest network of it's own sales and services centers in Belarus: today it consists of 58 offices in 28 Belarusian cities. Velcom dealership network also expands constantly and has 597 shops in 145 Belarusian cities.
In 2006, Velcom deployed first Belarusian UMTS (3G) network in Minsk (2007 in Mogilyev).
Today, this network covers over 91,5% of Belarusian territory, where over 97,7% of the total population, and 100% of city population, live. The network's quality is provided by 2 947 base stations, 9 commutators and 25 682 radiotransmitters in 1 235 places. Around 4 000 000 people use company's service. The amount of users increased by 600 000 in 2008.
Total investments for entire duration of company's activity is estimated to be USD 600 000 000.
The company takes an active role in agricities' developement: according to State program of village revival and developement for 2005-2010 over 1100 agricites were provided with communications.
Company became a part of Mobilkom Austria Group in November, 2007.
