MTS Belarus’ 3G network now covers 60% of population

According to TeleGeography Belarusian mobile operator MTS Belarus reports that following a network expansion carried out this year, its 3G mobile network coverage has been increased from 35% to 60%. Tut.by writes that the cellco is now hoping to widen its footprint to all municipal centres across the country by the end of 2011. MTS Belarus utilises Evolved High Speed Packet Access Plus (HSPA+) technology offering peak download transmission speeds of 21.6Mbps. MTS Belarus launched its 3G network in September 2010.
