Cell phone services provider Velcom has recently published financial results for the 2nd quarter of 2011. According to the results for the first half of the year, company's gains made up 790,8 billion Belarusian roubles (420,2 billion of which was gained in the second quarter). This means that gains has grown by 27,2% compared to the last year's corresponding period.
The number of users increased to 4 million 461 thousand, 763 thousand of which were mobile internet users (second quarter's growth was 32 thousand users). The number of users who received the mobile Internet package reached 513 thousand.
The operator's market share is 40,8% coverage - 95,3% of the country's territory with 100% of the urban population. Penetration has increased by 1,7% compared to the first quarter and reached 115,4%.
