According to TeleGeography chinese equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies has trialled 100G transmission services on Beltelecom’s national backbone network, Telecompaper reports.
The trial on the Belarusian PTO’s live WDM network was carried out over a link connecting Russia and Poland, and transiting Belarus. It is understood that during the trial 100G services were transmitted concurrently with 10G and 40G services over the same fibre, achieving non-regeneration transmission over a distance of 900km. The Chinese vendor used enhanced Polarisation Division Multiplexing Quadrature Phase-Shift Keying (ePDM-QPSK) modulation for the live 100G long-haul transmission test, it said.
