The volume of transit traffic streams organised by Beltelecom at the beginning of December 2011 in the Russian and European direction going through Belarus exceeded 100Gbit/second mark.
Beltelecom has signed an agreement with leading Polish and Russian telecom companies to allow the traffic to pass through Belarus' territory. Beltelecom is expanding and modernising fiber-optic communication lines, bus network and datacom network using next-gen DWDM hardware with bigger carrying capacity.
Last year transbelarusian traffic has grown up from 37 to 105 Gbit/sec.
In 2012 Beltelecom is planning to allocate 1Tbit/sec for transit streams.
