Velcom owner selects Procera for Belarusian fixed and mobile deployment

According to TeleGeography Telekom Austria Group (TAG), which owns Belarusian cellular operator Mobile Digital Communications (Velcom), has inked a new contract with Procera Networks, for the supply of a services optimisation solution based on Procera Networks’ PacketLogic hardware and software platform.
The vender is a developer of intelligent policy enforcement (IPE) solutions designed for carriers, service providers and high-end enterprises to enable improved quality management; service creation and delivery; detailed business analytics on network utilisation and bandwidth consumption; and improved security protection. Commenting on the contract, Procera chief executive officer James Brear said: ‘We are very pleased to be chosen as the provider of the services optimisation solution at TAG and look forward to working with TAG group companies to provide innovative optimisation techniques that will assist TAG to maintain and enhance the excellent service levels that they currently provide to their fixed and mobile customers.’ The contract covers products and services to all TAG companies, including Belarus, Austria (A1), Slovenia (Si.mobil), Croatia (Vipnet), the Republic of Serbia (VIP mobile) and Macedonia (VIP Mobile), Bulgaria (Mobiltel) and Liechtenstein (mobilkom liechtenstein). No financial details were disclosed.
