Turkcell linked with possible MTS Belarus bid

According to TeleGeography Officials from Turkish mobile network operator Turkcell was one of the companies involved in the Belarusian government’s presentation on the sale of a stake in MTS Belarus, its joint venture with Russian group Mobile TeleSystems (MTS).
Prime-Tass reports that MTS, which owns 49% of the unit, itself did not attending the meeting in the capital Minsk. The government is looking to sell its 51% holding and is looking for USD1 billion for the asset.
