Beltelecom announces hike in international call rates

According to TeleGeography Belarus’ state owned incumbent PTO Beltelecom is increasing its international call rates, effective from 17 December 2012, Telecompaper reports without citing its sources.
According to the unconfirmed report, the telco is introducing eight zones for international calls. It is understood that the cost of making a call to Russia will increase by 20%, while calls to the United States are set to rise by 365%. Meanwhile, calls to Ukraine, Germany, and Poland will go up by 50%, 57% and 12% respectively.
