According to TeleGeography MTS Belarus has revealed that it has now upgraded 82% of its 3G base stations to Dual Carrier (DC) HSPA+, allowing it to offer theoretical peak download speeds of 42Mbps.
The cellular operator began the upgrade project in December 2011 and now says the technology is available on 162 3G base stations in Minsk, all regional centres, 23 other cities plus 18 villages, Telecompaper reports. 80.5% of the country’s population now has access to MTS’ 3G services.
