According to TeleGeography belarusian Alternative Digital Network (ADN), which provides services under the Atlant Telecom and Shparki Damavik brands, says the number of residential users connected to its Ethernet-based network has reached the 100,000 mark.
In total, the altnet says it has more than 170,000 ADSL, cable TV and corporate customers. In a statement Atlant Telecom said that subscriber growth for Ethernet subscribers in the consumer segment reached 15.68% in H1 2014. The company started building its own network infrastructure in the country in 2007, with residents of the neighbourhood of Kuntsevshchina in Minsk being the first to benefit from the service. Today, the carrier’s Ethernet network is available in Minsk, Gomel, Mogilev and Vitebsk, with plans to expand coverage to other areas by the end of 2015.
