Duty free limit on import of personal-use goods up to 200EUR in Belarus

According to BelTA The duty-free limit on the import of goods for personal use delivered by international mail was increased to 200EUR in Belarus.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed corresponding decree No. 360 “Concerning the movement of personal-use goods via the customs border of the Customs Union” on 21 July, BelTA learned from the presidential press service.

“In line with the decree, the duty-free limit on the import of personal-use goods delivered by international mail and express mail with the total weight of up to 31kg was raised to ˆ200,” the press release of the press service reads.

The State Customs Committee, the State Border Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food were instructed to determine the kinds and quantity of products which can be considered personal-use goods.

Aviation security services were instructed to inform workers of customs bodies about the export of forbidden goods or the products which export is restricted.

Carriers in charge of the express mail delivery to physical bodies can perform customs procedures in relation to imported goods if such carriers can provide customs services.

The State Customs Committee can also issue permissions to hand over temporarily imported vehicles to the third persons.

“Apart from that, the decree regulates the payment of customs duties and taxes in relations to imported goods for personal use,” according to the press service.

The decree also envisages terms of temporary storage of personal-use goods imported by physical bodies who seek permanent residence in Belarus.
