According to Telecompaper the Belarusian chargeable Wi-Fi services market is worth around USD 4 million, reports Providers.by citing a study by J'son & Partners Consulting.
National operator Beltelecom dominates the market, running over 1,300 public hotspots using equipment from Cisco, including around 700 hotspots in the city of Minsk. Beltelecom launched Homespot services in 2013 and 256,000 W-Fi users had been registered for the service at the end of the second quarter of this year. Mobile operators MTS Belarus and Velcom provide internet services based on the Wi-Fi network of the national operator.
