velcom rumoured to be in market for domestic ISP Atlant Telecom

According to TeleGeography Mobile Digital Communications (MDC, or velcom as it is more commonly known) is understood to be seriously considering buying local ISP Atlant Telecom before the end of the year.
Onliner.by claims to hold information from a number of reliable sources confirming that Telekom Austria Group-owned velcom has serious plans to extend its reach into the broadband market via Atlant. One unnamed insider with knowledge of the deal claims that negotiations have been ongoing and are ‘currently in the final stages’, but other sources issued a caveat that any takeover may be delayed or not take place at all. When approached, velcom and Atlant Telecom refused to confirm or deny the speculation.
