According to BelTA We have dotted all the “i-s” in what concerns the decree to develop digital economy in the country, Belarus' Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko told the media after the meeting chaired by the Belarusian president on 21 December.
“The president has approved of the draft decree on digital economy. The document has been discussed several times and today all the “i-s” have been dotted. I think the president will sign the document before the new year,” the vice premier said. According to Vladimir Semashko, the Hi-Tech Park was a successful project in the IT sector, although not everyone was sure that it was needed. “Despite all the crises, recessions, the park has been expanding every year. Last year the park earned a total of $780 million. This year the sum will reach $1 billion. This is more than MAZ, MTZ or BelAZ earn,” he said. “The main thing is the youth that do not leave the country and work here. The budget gets revenue,” said Vladimir Semashko. In his words, digital economy is a necessary condition today. As BelTA reported earlier, the meeting discussed a number of legal acts, including the proposals on the development of the digital economy and the opportunities it provides for the IT sector and other areas.
