10/07/2018

According to BelTA the Belarusian automaker BelAZ and SAP CIS Company will work together to develop smart industrial solutions in order to provide advanced services based on cloud computing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to BelAZ clients.

The digital transformation of in-house business processes of the Belarusian company was also mentioned, SAP CIS Company representatives told BelTA. In particular, an application will be developed to collect telemetry data from BelAZ haul trucks. It will allow creating “a digital copy” of the haul truck in addition to creating smart “digital open pit” systems for mining companies. Apart from that, BelAZ intends to embrace business systems to run internal planning and production management processes. The systems will also help manage production costs and quality. Piotr Parkhomchik, Director General of OAO BelAZ, the managing company of the holding company BelAZ, noted: “The haul trucks we build are fitted with hundreds of sensors, which generate terabytes of real-time data per annum. The data allows us to monitor the quality of work of haul trucks in any part of the globe. The collected data, predictive analytics, and machine learning technologies will enable us to give our clients brand new smart services to improve the performance of our haul trucks, predictive analytics, and make the transition from scheduled maintenance to maintenance on demand.” The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ designs and manufactures mining vehicles and special-purpose vehicles using innovative technologies. Over the course of 70 years the company has made over 500 various modifications of haul trucks and utility vehicles, has assembled 146,000 vehicles, with the products shipped to 78 countries.
